Blog Tour: Admiral's Elite Series by H K Savage

Second Sight
Admiral’s Elite # 1
By- H.K. Savage
Genre- Adult Paranormal Romance

Rebecca Sauter is a proud military police officer with a secret; she’s clairvoyant. Her ex-Marine father can’t understand why she won’t try harder for a commission but for Becca, hiding among the greater mass of enlisted men and women is safer.

One night on a run she encounters a terrifying man and his beastly dogs; in her attempts to defend herself she hits her head and passes out. When she wakes up in the hospital she’s being collected by a handsome but rude officer.

Humans are fragile. That has been Captain Michael Rossi’s mantra since his first days as a vampire in 1944. Now Admiral Black has given a post within his elite unit to a human woman solely because she has “the sight”. Michael’s fears that she will bring harm to his men are soon eclipsed by his realization that it is her who might suffer should the admiral decide she is a poor fit.

EXCERPT

From Into the Light-

His voice never rose. It didn’t have to. Becca caught the uptick in intensity. That Black knew she called it jumping meant he’d gotten it from Michael. She couldn’t be angry he’d told. He had to. And that was exactly why Michael asked her to tell no one, including him, about how it all worked. That she was unable to tell him she understood why, that she knew Black could pry anything out of him and he would be powerless to resist, troubled her. Her thoughts turned to the new scar he carried and inwardly she winced. He was her ally here. He had been from day one, even if there were a few hiccups. Out of a need to keep him from the further punishment sure to be doled out if he continued to defy Black’s information requests, she complied.
“I haven’t jumped since the fire demon, Sir.” That much was true. Sure she’d tried on a number of unwitting participants. Random people on the street, in a restaurant, even Gabrielle, all to no avail. Thus far only Ryan and Michael were open to her, and with no one to ask about how it all worked, she had no clue how to proceed.
No sound came from the admiral’s seat and Becca let her eyes rove nearly all the way up to the soulless eyes, catching herself when they hit the top of his cheek. From her indirect scrutiny she could see that he had gone “dead” in that that creepy
vampire way of his. A little voice inside her head reminded her Michael could do it too and she shook it off. Michael was a different kind of vampire. He was caring. He had a soul. Other than Black’s unexplained desire to help keep the monsters from outright attacking humans, he’d shown no signs of any sort of compassion at all.
Miracles happen. A shoe scuffed on the stone at the base of the steps and Becca could breathe again.
Black didn’t move. “Michael, well timed.”

About the Author

HK lives in the frozen hinterlands of the far North.  The long, cold months provide ample opportunity to hunker down with her computer and create adventures far more enticing than scraping ice and getting frostbite.

Between books HK reads voraciously.  Anything with a good plot and compelling characters are her broad parameters.  One is as likely to catch her with a copy of Don Quixote as with the latest Kristen Ashley.

When not writing or wowing the corporate world by day, HK practices martial arts, plays with her dogs and matches wits with her teen. Next winter she intends to brush up on her Spanish and escape the cold for somewhere more tropical.
